A 22-year-old Texas man will spend almost fifty years in jail subsequent to being sentenced for killing a 9-year-old young lady after her house was erroneously designated in a shooting.

On Monday, a jury in Dallas Region condemned Davonte Benton to 45 years in jail regarding the shooting demise of Brandoniya Bennett, 9, who was killed by a wanderer shot inside her condo on Aug. 14, 2019, the Dallas Province Lead prosecutor’s Office declared Tuesday.

Senior told WFAA she implored her granddaughter to awaken. “I said Niya, ‘Get up. Get up for granny once again.'” In the middle between wails, she said, “She was the best thing.”
